    Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Charge Nurse provides nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practices and regulations and supervises the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) staff in the delivery of direct resident care.

     

    Job Type: Full-time

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.  Nurse License in good standing and currently licensed by the State.
    2. Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
    3. Capable of maintaining regular attendance.
    4. Ability to supervise other employees and work cooperatively to obtain resident care objectives.
    5. Meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
    6. Physical and sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to hear and respond to pages; ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to read and write, ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with residents, families, personnel, vendors and consultants; ability to remain calm under stress.

    Must have completed a state approved NATCEP program and passed the state certification test, both written/verbal and skills test. Must have certification from the state of Texas.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.  Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check.
    2. Demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate in English.
    3. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.
    4. Positive manner with elders and their family members.
    5. Capability to work alternating shift assignments.
    6. Knowledge of ADL’s and attends ADL In-services.
    7. Must be able to lift a minimum of (50) pounds.

    Job description

    The purpose of this position is to prepare and provide food service to residents in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

     

    Qualifications: At least 6 months experience as a cook is preferred.

     

    Delegation of authority:

     

    Authority is delegated to the individual in this position to:

    • Prepare residents’ diets in accordance with diet orders and daily menus.
    • Assist the food service supervisor to determine the amount and type of food necessary to prepare the daily menus.
    • Monitor use of food to eliminate waste.
    • Follow posted menus for food preparation.
    • Stock food in compliance with dietary policies and procedures.

     

    Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Responsibilities:

     

    • Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
    • Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
    • Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
    • Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
    • Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
    • Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
    • Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
